I’m a theater kid turned author turned middle school drama teacher who knows writing is never going away but this isn’t my season. Just finished The Funeral Ladies of Ellerie County and now I want to make piecrust and maybe deal with my own family’s grief over PTSD. Absolutely beautiful story. Thank you for it.

Also I wrote two novels with summer deadlines and then release dates when my kids were small—you got this!

I did not know this about B&N! Cheers to writing 500 words a day this summer … I am ALSO a theater kid so add that to our parallel lives 😜

Yes! Publishers can no longer pay for placement or promo. Stores now operate like Indies, where the staff and management (for the most part) gets to pick what's stocked! If you want to nerd out: https://fortune.com/2024/03/11/barnes-noble-bookstore-amazon-taylor-swift-growth-retail/

I loved this so much!! This die-hard theater kid is nodding and waving her hand in the air in enthusiastic agreement.

Also I just finished A Gentleman in Moscow, the other big Amor Towles, and absolutely flipped I adored it so much, so maybe I'll have to check out this other one too.

I will say A Gentleman in Moscow is my favorite of his, but I did love the Lincoln Highway as well!
