Looking forward to Each and Every Spark having spent my 20s in Paris and returned many times with and without children. Really liked Funeral Ladies and going to recommend it to my Catholic women’s book club.
Aaahhhh I'm so excited about this!! About both of your upcoming books! It's encouraging to hear other people that are working on historical fiction for kids. I have a list of project ideas I want to work on after my current ones, including a historical novel that's been in my head for ages. Maybe it needs to happen sooner rather than later!
There are just so many pockets of history that haven't been widely written about--and novels are just some of the best way for kids to learn! Admittedly I am starting with one of the most well-researched time periods in all of history, hahaha, but I also felt like I needed to start with an easier time period!
My husband and I are currently watching The Roosevelts (Ken Burns) after kid bedtime - we are absolute Ken Burns junkies! It is so lovely to hear about your history minded childhood and that it was such a positive thing (my husband has been plotting a family trip to Sagamore Hill for some time now). Your new book sounds absolutely fascinating - I love reading historical fiction but it always seemed so intimidating to try to write (so much research, interlocking narratives etc)! So cool you took it on. I've never been a summer person but I'm really feeling it this year :) Happy for you!
Of course I just downloaded Three Words for Goodbye! Thanks for the recommendation.

Thank you so much!
I love every time you mention going to school board meetings, and am inspired! Also I really enjoy your writing newsletters, thanks Claire!
Love the premise for Each and Every Spark! 🤗
Also loving Andor!!! I’ll have to check out Three Words for Goodbye after we finish the finale.
ANDOR!!!!!!!! I'm so sad it's over!

I always look forward to seeing what books your kids recommend - thanks for sharing!
They're my favorite recommenders!
