I subscribed to your newsletter a couple of weeks ago and I just caught up on the prior newsletters. I have never read any of your middle grade books before, but that all changes now. I love middle grade and I'm always looking for new to me authors and their books. I'm in a virtual book club and inside of that book club we have what is called "postal book club". A genre or topic is chosen, 6 people sign up, a mailing order is decided on and then we read a book and send it on to the next person on the list. Over the period of a year, we read six different books and hopefully make friends with the other 5 in our group. I joined the Middle Grade PBC for 2023 and I've downloaded The Kate in Between. I can't wait to start it this weekend.
Thank you so much for this! I absolutely LOVE reading your work. Too many times though, I get caught up in that dangerous territory of let-me-compare-my-life-to-someone-else's. And I think, how can Claire get so much accomplished with 3 kids and I can't (also with 3 kids)?! Especially in this season of life with little ones, it's comforting to know that we all have productive days with work and goals and days where simply doing the dishes is a big accomplishment. And what works for one person isn't necessarily what works for another. I love how you say what works for you leads to an "ordinary extraordinary." I think that's the kind of perspective we all need :) That and Meg's pencil bouquet :) #foreverinlovewiththatmovie
